Never would I ever believe that this sport existed. I am so glad I did!
Kayak Waterpolo is a fun sport that can keep you active. I discovered while taking kayak classes just for fun. There were about 20 students all together in the class. In the class, everyone learned about the kayak, the right way to hold the paddle, the right way to paddle, and how to recover when we capsized.
From beginning to end, the class was a blast. I even learned how to kayak surf, which is an intense but fun activity. After the instructors had taught us just about everything, they wanted to know if everyone would be interested in playing a little game called Kayak Waterpolo. Naturally, the class was intrigued and decided that we would play it.
The first thing we needed to do was find two buoys that were relatively near each other. Somewhere between 50 and 75 yards is a good distance.
Next, we decided the teams. There were about 20 people so it came out to 10-on-10.
Both teams started on their respective sides by their buoys, which turned out to be the goals. In order to a score, a person must stay in the kayak and touch the ball to the buoy. It is best to use sit-on-top kayaks for this because they are much easier to get back into after falling off.
When the instructor throws the ball between the two teams at midfield, it becomes pure chaos as both teams charge at each other paddling as fast as they can.
From then on, each team must do whatever it takes, within reason, to score a goal. We are standing, jumping, and kneeling on the kayaks in order to get the ball and score a goal. Teams were even tipping others out of their kayaks and at times even pirating others kayaks in order to win.
Overall, this sport is a blast! Of course, like in most sports, it is a fantastic exercise. Kayak waterpolo actually is a full body workout. However, much of the focus is on the upper body and the core.
I would definitely recommend this sport to younger people because it can get a little rough. Otherwise, it is definitely worth a shot. The important thing is that you find an activity that will keep you moving, because it's important to remain healthy as we get older. Maintaining that healthy balance between diet and exercise is key.

Beat the Summer Heat Wherever You Are
Has the heat been wearing out your body lately? Found yourself slowing down due to the heat? You're not the only one. Men who enjoy their time outdoors have had to hide away in their homes due to the summer heat. If you’re like many men, your to do list consisting of yard work, fixing the car, and staying fit is affected by the climbing climate. Here at GoProstect however, we want to make sure that you stay healthy and prepared for any heat wave worries. Here are some easy tips to help you stay healthy during this summer heat.
1.Drink Fluids-Keep your body replenished with lots of liquids, preferably water. Even if you're doing work indoors make sure your body stays hydrated to face the tough heat awaiting outside.
2.Eat Small Meals Often-To keep your energy up during a hot day eat small portioned meals throughout the day. Despite what your workout plan might say, avoid high protein foods because they will increase your water loss.
3.Wear lightweight clothing-As your working out cover your body with loose fit clothing to avoid sunburn. Make sure it’s comfortable and stay away from any dark colors that would attract the heat.
4.Avoid peak heat hours-During this summer heat people often make the mistake of venturing outside during peak hours of the day, 11 a.m to 4 p.m, when the sun is strongest. Move your time outside to 4 p.m to 7 p.m instead so that your body won't have to struggle with the additional wear from the sun.
5.Cool down with showers-Showers are a nice and relaxing way to cool off on a hot day. Make sure however, not to jump in the shower right after being overheated. Doing this may cause nausea and dizziness to the extreme shift in temperature.
With the summer in full swing it’s safe to say that the heat will be around for a while. Whether you’re out working on the car or remodeling the house, it’s important to take safety precautions. Here at GoProstect we are dedicated to keeping you safe and healthy no matter what the weather's like. With these tips you'll be able to deal with the stuffy summer climate and still enjoy your summer as well.

Staying Healthy at Work
Nowadays, staying in shape seems to be too much of a hassle for people. Many men and women come home from a long day of hard work and the last thing on their mind is going to the gym. Although they want to exercise, working from 9 to 5 can take a lot of energy out of anybody. Here are a few tips to stay healthy at work:
Prepare your lunch the night before
Instead of going out to the nearest fast food restaurant at lunch, prepare a delicious, healthy lunch with snacks to munch on during breaks the night before going to bed. The healthy lunch and snacks will provide energy throughout the day, and it will help keep you more focused and even improve your working skills.
Talk a walk around the block or office building
Taking a brisk walk around the block or office building will provide more energy and make you feel less tired. Have an apple, banana, or even a great tasting health bar that you can eat on the go helps as well.
Go to the gym in your office
If your office building has a gym, take a quick 15 minute jog or weightlifting session before you work or at lunch. Even though it does not seem like much of a workout, three times a week at just 15-20 minutes a day will keep you healthy and strong.
Staying active at work will make the day go by quicker and you will have an energy boost to go along with it. It can even improve your working abilities.
